Anna’s Christmas Crackers #5: ‘Strictly’ Christmas Special
Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas these days without some delightful Strictly Come Dancing entertainment, and this year looks set to be a cracker indeed.
Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special
To be shown on Christmas day, the star line up for the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special has been confirmed comprising of former world featherweight boxing champion Barry McGuigan who will be dancing with Erin Boag, Hi-De-Hi legend Su Pollard is partnered with Anton Du Beke. Blue’s Simon Webbe is to dance with Katya Virshilas.
Comedienne Debra Stephenson is paired with Ian Waite and EastEnders Janine Butcher, actress Charlie Brooks, who will take to the floor with Vincent Simone, who commented:
Barry: “I’m looking forward to Strictly Come Dancing, it’s a challenge. I’ve always considered myself to have two left feet and I want to surprise myself!”
Su: “Strictly Come Dancing is strictly must-see Christmas Day television. I’m hoping to wow the judges and the viewers with my utter exuberance and prowess!”
Simon: “Strictly Come Dancing is one of my mum’s favourite shows. It’s always nice to learn something new, the dancing part of my brain is dormant and I want to wake it up. I also want to wear something tight and sparkly!”
Debra: “I’m a really big fan of Strictly Come Dancing. I’m very excited to be on the Christmas special and I can’t wait to get my dancing shoes on!”
Unlike the series format which sees 14 celebrities compete against each other week after week until one couple wins taking home the iconic glitter ball, these celebrities have done the bare minimum in training, and will dance for one night only, purely for our entertainment, giving us a real digestive for the end of Christmas day 2011.
Last Year’s Christmas saw Torchwood and Doctor Who actor, John Barrowman, paired with professional dancer, Kristina Rihanoff, dance their way to victory with a show stopping Quickstep which got them the amazing score of 37, which included one top mark ‘10’.
