‘X Factor’s’ Janet Devlin on the verge of signing record deal?
With the X Factor tour now well under way, it’s today been revealed that former X Factor contestant Janet Devlin could be about to sign her first ever record deal since the ITV talent show finished just months ago.
The 17-year-old singer shot to fame in last years series of The X Factor and was an early favourite to win the show after she won over the judges and viewers with her very unique singing style. Janet was landed with Kelly Rowland as her mentor and ended up singing songs which just didn’t fit her style which ended up with her being voted of the show.
Despite only have very little experience of singing in school, pubs, and local talent shows, the Northern Ireland singer built up a large following fan base whilst on The X Factor, which lead to her finishing in a worthy fifth place.
Since leaving The X Factor late last year, it’s said that several record companies are interested in signing her to their label, including RKA records who have previously already offered her a contract within 35 minutes of her being voted off the show.
Whilst in an interview with The Irish Independent, Janet admitted that she has received many offers from record companies, but she isn’t quite sure which one to choose to produce her debut album.
She said: “I don’t even know. The management company take care of a lot of that, but I should know within a few weeks who we’re going with.”
However Janet is currently on the X Factor tour in the UK and has said that she won’t make any decisions about the record deal until the tour is finished.
