BBC drama ‘The Cut’ comes to Hulu


Hit British teen drama, The Cut, which was created by the BBC made its debut exclusively on Hulu and Hulu Plus on April 23rd.

, the producer behind breakout college drama, Dorm Life, is the show’s distributor in the U.S through an exclusive first-run, multi-year distribution agreement with Content Digital.

The series, created by Al Smith and Geoffrey Goodwin, is a fast-paced modern team drama about a group of friends living in London.

Series 1 of The Cut premiered on April 23rd on Hulu and Hulu Plus. Two 5-minute chapters will be released every weekday, with two full half-hour episodes being released on Saturdays. Following the conclusion of each season, the 5-minute episodes will be replaced with full half-hour episodes.

The first season, a stranger’s death draws 18 year-old Jay to London where he meets the Mackinnons and the Loxleys, two families with an age-old history of bad blood. Posh girl, Marla Mackinnon who is played by Lara Goodison, falls for Jay, but Mack (Dermot Martin), her controlling dad doesn’t stand for it. Olive Loxley (Billie North) is dreaming of escape from her over-protective sister, Toni (Jess Dickens) and their family cafe.

CEO, Josh McHugh said: “ will be one of Attention Span’s biggest content launches to date. It’s an opportunity for us to bring great new content to savvy and engaged Hulu viewers”.
