Alibi acquires ‘The Glades’, ‘White Collar’ broadcast rights from Fox
Alibi will air the first series of The Glades in September 2012, consisting of 13 x 60 minute episodes. The series, starring Matt Passmore as cocky Chicago detective Jim Longworth, is based in South Eastern Florida where there seems to be an unusually high homicide rate. Longworth, very much out of his comfort zone, has to navigate the murky murders and larger than life locals in his own unique style.
The network will also air the second series of White Collar in October 2012, which will consist of 16 x 60 minute episodes. The drama follows convicted fraudster and skilled criminal, Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) as he assists FBI agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay), to solve crimes as part of his sentencing conditions. Caffrey’s penchant for designer suits, silk ties and a variety of glamorous New York City locations help make White Collar one of the most stylish shows on TV.
General Manager of Alibi, Steve Hornsey said: “Both these series have proved hugely popular in America and are the perfect fit for Alibi’s remit of showcasing the best crime drama available. We are confident they will prove must-see shows for our viewers and we are delighted they will be able to enjoy them in high definition.”
Catherine Mackin, Director of Programme Acquisitions at UKTV who negotiated the agreement, continued: “This is the first full licensing deal UKTV has done with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution and we are delighted to be extending our relationship with them. White Collar and The Glades are unique crime series that have already secured a huge following and they perfectly embody the type of quality US content we want for Alibi.”
