The Thick Of It Election Special Shelved?

The absolutely BRILLIANT political-comedy show starring Peter Capaldi, The Thick Of It, has reportedly had it’s election-night special shelved. James Smith (Glenn Cullen) spoke to The Sun yesterday and said, “Armando [Iannucci] wanted to do an election special but we thought that it would look foolish if we got the wrong party. We thought we could do different endings and end it on that night but that wouldn’t work logistically. Then we thought, what’s the point of doing that and missing the point that the show is so politically astute?” Since the article was published by the tabloid, writer of the show Armando Iannucci has said (via Twitter) that it’s all b****cks and nothing has been discussed yet. A new series is expected to be in the pipeline, and the show recently won a South Bank Show Award for best comedy. The awards air this Sunday on ITV1.
