DOI: Tana Ramsay Out!

It was another long one for Dancing On Ice fans last night, as the shows combined lasted nearly 3 hours. That aside though, it was 70s night and after a great routine from Jayne and Chris and a joke from Schofe about Holly’s space-hoppers, it was on with the show. Here are the points and some of the judges comments…

First onto the ice was Hollyoaks‘ Kieron Richardson. With a total of 15 points from the judges, Jason said that his performance had good rhythm, but wasn’t enjoyable to watch. Emma Bunton loved it though ‘a fun, real performance’ she said. Next up was… wife of Gordon, Tana Ramsay. The judges awarded her with 12 points. Nicky told her that ‘it needs more speed and attack, but it’s a big step up’. Following Tana we had Corrie’s Danny Young. After receiving 12 points from the judges, Jason said that he looked like a bulldog with a bone (Frankie). Frankie and Karen weren’t happy with that! But that’s not the worst thing Jason said all night…

Following Danny, we had the Inbetweeners‘ Emily Atack. After receiving the lowest score of the night (10.5) for being dragged around on ice, Nicky compared it to last weeks performance and told her that she had stronger skating skills, while Emma thought that the routine was messy and unsteady. Next onto the ice was Boyzone’s Mikey Graham, the performance impressed all and he was deservedly awarded with 20.5 points from the judges. Jason said that it was playful and cheeky, and that Mikey and his partner had a great connection.

Onto the ice next was Heather Mills. During her rehearsal VT, she spoke about her new leg and how it takes a while to correct balance. After seeing her fall numerous times in the VT, it made it somewhat uncomfortable to watch as I was convinced that she was going to fall. As expected it wasn’t a good as her performances from previous weeks, so the judges awarded her with 12.5 points. Emma said that it wasn’t fluid, while Robin Cousins told her to bring it back next week. Following Heather was Dr. Hilary! It was a wobbly and nervy performance, but after nearly falling over last week it was an improvement. 11.5 points from the judges. ‘Improving slightly, but not enough’ said Jason, and ‘Better posture, but the others are far ahead’ said Emma.

Former EastEnders actress Daniella Westbrook was next! ‘Great to watch’ said Robin, ‘A bit wobbly at the start’ said Nicky and ‘Steady, fun’ said Emma. A total of 19.5 points from the judges. Following Daniella was Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies and a comment from Jason that has disgusted many. After dancing not so brilliantly with partner Pavel in a slightly ill-fitting, sequined, brown lycra outfit, it was time for the judges comments. Here’s Jason’s, I quote… ‘In your brown costume, it was like watching faecal matter before it’s flushed. It just goes round and round.’ Ouch! After a week of low confidence, I’m sure that didn’t help. 15 points for Sharron nonetheless!

Gary Lucy was next. Good perfomance, few stumbles but managed to forget about them and carry on. Gary got 19 points from the judges. Last to dance last night was Emmerdale’s Hayley Tamaddon. It was a brilliant performance! Jason described the routine as ‘having more energy than EDF’ but also told her that the required element (which was a step combination this week) was weak. Hayley received the highest score of the series so far, 23 points! So they had all skated, and then it was time for a break. Wild At Heart.

Now, I’m not going to lie. I watched 24 on Sky1 HD instead of the skate-off (because it’s brilliant), check it out! But I can tell you that Danny Young and Tana Ramsay were in the bottom two and had to skate again to impress the judges. The judges (of course) saved Danny as it’s a skating show. Now, just 10 remain and they will do it all over again live, next Sunday, ITV1!
