DOI: Heather Mills Out!

Heather Mills was last night told she’d be leaving the ice rink after she was in the skate off with Hollyoaks‘ Kieron Richardson, but failed to impress the judges. Before the final 10 took to the ice to impress the public, there was a performance from Jayne and Chris. They were accompanied by Pixie Lott who sang a cover of the Kings Of Leon’s ‘Use Somebody’.

Main Show

Here are the scores and some of the judges comments from last night…

The Bill’s Gary Lucy was first onto the ice with his partner Maria Filippov. After the pair skated, the judges awarded them with 18.5 points. Emma Bunton told them that she was pleased that we were starting to see the real Gary come out and that it was a lovely performance. Nicky Slater added that it was as clean as it could be and that it was good to see him having fun and letting go.

Following Gary onto the ice was Heather Mills and her partner Matt Evers. Their routine won them 15 points from the judges. Karen Barber congratulated her for being steadier on the ice, but gave her a lower score as she only did one rotation for the ‘pairs spin’ (which was this weeks required element. Jason told Heather that he was quite impressed with the control and that her and Matt have a great connection. He added that she needs to extend her neckline at times. Head judge Robin said that it was not bad at all.

After Heather we had Hollyoaks‘ Danny Young and his partner Frankie Poultney. After receiving 17 points from the ice panel, Nicky said that he was blown away by the big, strong lifts but he didn’t quite manage to get the spin right. Jason added that his arm lines had improved thanks to the ballet class he had attended, and that he needs to show more enjoyment in his face during the lifts.

Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack was up next with partner Fred Palasack. 15 points is what the judges awarded her with. Emma said that she was pleasantly surprised. ‘You looked confident and sexy. So pleased. I loved you skating on your own, brilliant skater’. Jason added that it was Emily’s best week, but she needs to work on the fluidity of her arms. He also said that she lost some of the story when the technical requirements came in.

Up next was Boyzone’s Mikey Graham with his partner Melanie Lambert. After receiving just 15 points (he’s lowest score of the series so far), the judges told him that he was given a difficult routine but didn’t quite manage to pull it off. Karen told him that he needs to be more consistent with his routines. Robin added that he wasn’t allowing himself to be as good as he can be and that some parts of the routine worked better than others.

Olympic swimmer Sharron Davies was next onto this ice with partner Pavel Aubrecht. After being awarded with 16.5 points from the judges, the judges gave their comments. Jason was nicer after last weeks comment! He told her that she had improved a lot over the last week. She had grace and her leg lines had improved. He added that she sometimes has a stiff upper body and she will need to work on that. Nicky Slater told her that her good quality skating had a lovely flow and covered a lot of the ice.

Hollyoaks‘ Kieron Richardson was next up with his partner Brianne Delcourt. After being awarded 16 points by the judges, they told him that his overall performance was better than last week and that his independent skating had improved. They pointed out that there were a few glitches in the routine and the skip in the music distracted him, but he continued on pretty well.

Following Kieron we had Emmerdale’s Hayley Tamaddon and her partner Daniel Whiston. After Daniel slipped on a bump in the ice and dropped Hayley, she grazed and cut her arm on the ice, but they continued with the routine and the ‘headbanger’ was a success. Hayley received 21 points from the judges and they told her that the quality was there, but she lost marks due to Daniel’s slip. Other than that, Robin described the routine as ’sensational’.

GMTV’s Dr. Hilary was next onto the ice with his partner Alexandra Schauman. After being awarded with just 11.5 points from the judges, they gave their comments. Karen said that because there was only one rotation for the required element, he lost marks. Jason pretty muched summed it up though with his comment.. ‘There were a lot of things missing. Stiff, slow and labored. Lacked content, and it was basically the same old routines but set to different music’.

Lastly onto the ice was ex-EastEnders star Daniella Westbrook and her partner Matthew Gonzalez. Westbrook was given 20 points. Emma told her that she was expecting a lot, but some of it needed more attack. Other than that, it was a strong performance. Head judge Robin told her that the routine needed a bit more attitude and that she was capable of more.

The Results

The second show had begun and Hayley Tamaddon was top of the leaderboard with 21 points, while Dr. Hilary was right at the bottom with just 11.5 points. After a performance from Pixie Lott of her new single ‘Cry Me Out’, it was time for Phillip Schofield to announce the results. One by one the people with the most votes survived, until it came down to Kieron Richardson and Heather Mills were named as the people with the least amount of votes and the two people that would be skating again in the skate off. After the two skated to impress the judges, they voted 4 to 1 in Kieron’s favour. Heather Mills was out of the show!
