Last night’s first Must Be the Music live semi-final saw fiddle player Daithi and best friends Pepper & Piano progress to the Wembley Arena final in three weeks time. Flow Dem, Legion of Many and Chakula Soul failed to secure enough votes to continue.
For the first time on a UK talent show, the semi-finalists performances would be made available straight away on iTunes and Sky Songs.
That’s not all though, they also have their own merchandise available online for people to buy, should they want to do so. None money will go to Sky, or the judges.. just to the performers themselves. On the music front, currently Pepper & Piano’s ‘You Took My Heart’ is at #5 in the iTunes singles chart and Daithi’s ‘Carraroe’ is #3 in the alternative singles chart!
Next week’s second semi-final will feature; The Pictures, Kyle Nash-Baker, the Trinity Band, Emma’s Imagination and the Ebony Steel Band. Catch it on Sky1/HD this Sunday at 7pm!
